Tomáš Bém grew up in the mountainous north of Bohemia. He completed a joinery apprenticeship and further specialised in the construction of furniture at a high school. Then he studied interior design under the supervision of professor Jan Fišer at the Faculty of Art and Design of the University of Jan Evangelista Purkyně in Ústí nad Labem and architecture at the Peter Behrens School of Architecture in Düsseldorf. He finished his studies joining the studio “Concept, Object, Meaning” led by professor Eva Eisler at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.

Since 2010 he has been running his own studio in Prague. His activities cover artistic design, product design, furniture, custom-made trade fair displays, interior design and architecture.
